LASH FACTS

THE GROWTH CYCLE

Did you know, the average person has 90-120 natural lashes per eye and that each eye can shed between 2-3 lashes a day.

Thats a loss of 21 lashes in a week.

This is why lash fills should be done every 2-3 weeks to keep your lashes looking full. Especially with a change in the seasons and climate we lose a significant amount more.

Faster lash loss can mean thinner and shorter lashes, this is where frequent fills helps. This is nothing to be alarmed by, everyone’s lashes shed and it’s only temporary.

CLEANING

Did you know, there are tiny bacteria that get caught in our lashes everyday? This is why cleaning our lashes properly helps prevent bacterial build up and infection. Don’t ignore this crucial step.

SLEEPING

Sleeping with eyelash extensions are simple. Wash your face nightly. Try not to sleep facedown. Sleep with a silk pillowcase, this prevents added friction that causes breakage to your lashes. Silk pillowcases also allow your lashes to breathe and they are easier on your hair.

LASH Q&A

Q: Do eyelash extensions damage my eyelashes?
A: When eyelash extensions are applied correctly with the proper length and volume in mind, your eyelashes should not get damaged.

Q: Can I wash my eyes when I wash my face with eyelash extensions?
A: Yes! It is recommended that you not only wash your face, but clean your eyelashes and eyes as well. Use an oil free cleaners to keep your lashline clean and free of bacteria.

Q: Does it hurt to get eyelash extensions?
A: When applied correctly eyelash extensions become an extension of your lashes and you will barley feel them.

Q: How long will eyelash extensions last?
A: It depends on your own natural lash cycle, this is why fills are recommended to extend the duration of your eyelash extensions. Lash extensions on average last anywhere from 2-3 weeks.

Q: Can I use mascara or eyeliner on my lashes?
A: It’s best not to because mascara contains oils and waxes that will loosen the eyelash glue which in turn will make them fall off faster. Eyeliner should be used sparingly to prolong your lashes.

Q: How do I prevent my lashes from falling off too soon?
A: Don’t pick, pull or rub them. Don’t use mascara or even water proof mascara. Avoid getting them wet within 48 hours of getting them done. Try to avoid sleeping on your face. Take special care of your lashes. Remember that certain medication or vitamins can also increase hair growth rate therefore your lash cycle is a lot shorter causing your extensions to fall off with your natural lash.
